eg. How do you approach an STD test with a new partner?

Do you ask people whether they have an STD when starting a sexual relationship?

Asked by on

I was in health class and I found out that a lot of people have STD’s and I really don’t want one (obviously.) So, before I start a sexual relationship in the future, how do I ask a guy whether he has something? Should I make him get tested?

Both of you should get tested. Just let him know from the beginning that its necessary and if he doesnt want to, there will be no sex. Plain and simple.

When you are in a relationship that is moving toward a sexual one too, simply ask. Don’t quiz him on his past partners or anything, just ask for an honest answer. Frankly, asking him to get tested for your peace of mind is a good idea too. And if he cares enough about you to have sex with you, he will honor this request.

Trust me, I wish someone had told me this. I contracted herpes from the second man I slept with at the age of 21. It changes everything. Not fun.

Im very happy to answer this question, Im 27 still a virgin meaning I never had penetration, so Im no virgin Mary..But wait listen to this..I have HPV "Genital Warts" Its a skin to skin contact disease that many people are no familiar with. The subject of std’s should be first and foremost before sex is even in the equation..I have a fear of sex, im scared of kissing people or even letting someone use my toilet. Its so many diseases out here you dont even need to go all the way to get it. The main disease I was worried about was aids or hiv, I didnt even consider HPV or MPC MTV lol no seriously its crazy out here..sit down with your mate and have this discussion. no subject is taboo

Tell him a friend of yours caught herpes and now your paranoid. Get tested together to make him feel more at ease. Have a sit down with him and let him know nicely how you feel about safe sex. Use a condom at all times
