Strange symptoms, could it be an STD?

Asked by on April 4, 2017

I have two raised bumps near my vaginal opening. They are not red, itchy, or painful and have been there for almost a month. I have not had sexual intercourse in nearly 9 months. I can’t match my symptoms to anything I’ve read about common STD/STIs. Any thoughts on what it could be?

There are a few possibilities for what these bumps could be. It could be a dermatological issue or an STD, such as https://www.cdc.gov/std/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">genital warts. Genital warts can take time to manifest symptoms or disappear and come back, so even if you have not had intercourse lately, there could be a connection. The only way to get a diagnosis is to schedule a visit with your gynecologist, who can determine the cause of these bumps.
