STD from a swimsuit water extractor machine?

Asked by on

Does anyone know if it is possible to get any kind of STD from a swimsuit water extractor at the pool if someone with an STD used it prior to another person using it? I have never seen any warnings about it so maybe the chances of an STD spreading that way are pretty low especially if one hangs their swim suit to dry at home after using the machine.

Doubtful because of how cool it is there versus how warm it needs to be for those diseases to live.

I usually rinse it out and put it in the sauna to dry. The heat usually kills any ‘germs’ and ‘bacteria.’

It ain’t gonna happen. The organisms that cause STDs ONLY live in very specific conditions, specifically an environment like that in a human body. If you are using a water extractor at a pool, that means you’ve been swimming in chlorinated water. The chlorine is what is called a ‘disinfectant’ and a ‘biocide’ which means it kills living things. STD causing organisms simply cannot live in chlorinated water. So, it is virtually impossible for you to get an STD causing organism from a water extractor at a pool. The ONLY way you get an STD is through the transfer of body fluids. You CANNOT get an STD as you described.
