“T” – STI = Sexually Transmitted Infection while STD = Sexually Transmitted Disease. First comes the infection which may lead to the disease, disability, and in some instances death if untreated. Many people get a STI but may NOT develop the STD if properly treated. If by your being gay and stupid and impulsive yesterday you had “unprotected sex,” especially if you were anal receptive, then there are several possible infection such as herpes type 2, gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, human papilloma virus (HPV), chancroid, and trichomonas. Since you’re only one day past exposure, you may still be infected without any visible disease. The smartest way to go NOW is to schedule a visit to an STI Clinic or your doctor to request a screening of your blood and maybe urine as well. This would possibly give you some peace of mind but could definitely establish you as being disease free at the time of your exposure yesterday should you ever need to establish that you were disease free at the time of your exposure yesterday. Usually the HIV/AIDS infection can take up to testinSitsgative after exposure to be 95% certain you were not infected. IF you’re negative, I hope you will learn more about STIs and practice safer sex in the future..
