My boyfriend is bleeding from his penis and is complaining of pain after urinating. Is this some sort of an STD. This started within 12 hours after we had sex.

12 hours is a very short timeframe and there is no STD developing this kind of extreme symptoms after just half a day. Bleeding is really unusual for a STD and sounds more like some kind of injury which means: He must see a doctor immediately. No further research online, no dangerous self-diagnosis, bleeding from within the penis sounds like an emergency!
In general, STD testing is a good idea, especially at the beginning of a relationsship, since the majority of chlamydia infections for example does not cause any symptoms at all, but can have dramatic effects on female fertility.
