What would happen if someone had an STD for a long time and didn’t notice?

My Health teacher was unable to answer this and i was just curious. What would happen if someone had an std for like years and didn’t notice? would they notice after a while (my teacher said some std’s are very suddel)? would it still be curable?

It depends on the STD, for instance Chlamydia often has no symptoms in women but left untreated it can cause Infertility and other complications such as Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. In men, Chlamydia often produces noticeable symptoms.
All STD’s are treatable only HIV CANNOT be cured and becomes something one has to live with and meds are used to control it it can never be cured and sadly for some people it advances to AIDs.
The only way to know for sure if you have an STD or not is to have a full Sexual Health Check-up, and to always use condoms, always!

Maybe nothing.
It would be dormant like chlamydia in the male can be.
People often have herpes for decades without knowing it.
Outbreaks in females can be only on the cervix and unnoticed.
Problems come with childbirth or transmitting it to partner.
Some oral herpes outbreaks can be very infrequent and small & go unnoticed.
Unnoticed, Untreated syphilis can cause many serious problems.
Don’t give your health teacher much cred.
